Sepia comes in handy sometimes, but it's very granular. Can't see where you've used it here. But it's a great fresh image.

Hi Kim, thanks for comment. The entire cathedral was painted in the so called sepia from White Nights that I got as a free gift. It's a grey brown rather than the yellowy, orangy brown I expected...that's why I wanted to see what it looked like. I'm beginning to realise how different colours with the same name can be from one manufacturer to the next.

Great drawing and really nice light filled painting. I like the creaminess you have got to the building with just the right depth of colour in the sky and foreground. P.S. I always find Sepia rather a dead colour, although it doesn't seem to have that effect in this painting, so you may have got the knack that I haven't got as yet.

Got given a new colour...Sepia. This quick impression of Winchester Cathedral was just to see what it looked like. Thought it was a bit dull, so I've washed some faint colour over it.
