This is a simple scene made very interesting by the use of exciting colour and penwork. I like it.

Many thanks Thea, Val and Jeannette. I deliberately tried a bold approach which has encouraged me to try more in a similar vein. I don't usually use pen and ink in my watercolours but felt it was quite effective here.

I have given up on watercolour probably prematurely as I couldnt get dramtic enough colour - but you have done so I am going to try again....I love this approach.

Thanks Yvonne, I'm glad you feel inspired to have another go. I have also had the problems you mention and I found that not being afraid to use strong mixes of paint was half the battle.
