Stunning in its simplicity. Focal point? Possibly - if you do want one I'd be inclined to move the red dot on the horizon (I do love this touch but at the moment its just a little too central) to the other side of the tree trunk to its left and make it fractionally larger - but only fractionally - in fact I'm beginning to wonder if it needs to be any larger .Placed here it would become a focal point. Lovely painting.

Pat, I love it with or without a focal point....when a painting is as good as this .....who needs a focal point. I just like looking at it.

Pat the simplicity of this makes it a winner. Silver birches are such attractive trees and you've arranged them artfully. I think the focal point just needs to be left to the imagination and nothing more added to the painting.

I agree with everyone, this is beautiful Pat

Perhaps it does need a focal point, although the eye is drawn to the red in the far distance ... I think I agree with all the others: it works as it is!

This is beautiful, Pat - pristine, simple and stunning. I think it works as is.The branches and trunks move the eye around really well.

Yes Pat this is stunning oil painting. the composition is just fine. good flowing brush work.

I love this painting, Pat. I think it works very well as it is, without a clear focal point.

Oil with brush and knives, roughly based on a photo taken earlier in the year. I enjoyed painting it but the composition's not too good, it probably needs a clear focal point.
