Charcoal on wax on oil paper. Just a touch of oil paint in the sky etc. The charcoal was loose and sticks to the thin coat of wax. Any surlus charcoal powder will drop off with a tap. This scene is typical of scenes near home - gentle hills and lots of trees/farmland
