Lovely work Pat. Have you cropped it or do the tulips reach to the edge of the canvas?

Thanks for your nice comment, Marjorie. I haven't cropped it - I took the photo this morning outside in the sun. At the third attempt I got almost all the painting in the shot, probably 1 or 2cm missing from the right hand side - this tulip is almost to the edge on the actual painting. I like both ways - for one or two blooms, I think fitting full flowers on the canvas is best but for a more random view of several flowers, I don't mind if they are cut off. However, I think this painting perhaps lacks a focal point - and I wanted a more expressive painting, I've tightened too much and made too many hard edges - it's hard to let go and I start fiddling.

Lovely Pat nicely painted and lovely colours great picture well done.

It's a great painting Pat. don't be so hard on your self.

Gorgeous tulips Pat I love the variety of colours you've captured the the petals.

Love these colours also like the closeup Pat.

Thank you all for very helpful and nice comments. Much appreciated
