Oh Jeanette, what a lovely reminder of the old days...I would leave it as it is, entirely appropriate to the subject and the times.

This is original. Lovely colours and really evocative of yester year. Delightful.

Agree with Ruth and Avril, a delightful reminder of days gone by, bet Shirley loves it. As you can see I'm back on line having bought a new computer,' getting some getting use to though!! Amazing how the colours can look so different on different computer screens!

Nice one. Maybe pen & wash, using sepia ink giving an even more subtle result? I've done a few 'yesteryear' pics, inventing my own colours, but used only 3 fairly low key ones.

I like this Jeanette, you have managed to get lovely textures in the landscape with your limited colour. Very oldy- worldy.

A wander down memory lane...Nicely done Jeannette....

Thank you all so very much for your kind comments. Shirley rang me today and mentioned that the young girl in the picture is in fact her grandmother. How lovely.

Well done Jeannette, you,ve managed to capture a little bit of history, absolutely charming. (Many thanks for your kind comment on "Blossoms")

I met Shirley on the BBC Gardener of the Year final 2005. She is a lovely lady who lives in a typical Yorkshire Cottage with beautiful views. She found an old photo after her mother died and realised it was the old lane before the trees were there. It looks completely different today. I was asked to paint it for her, She didn't want anything in her face! Maybe painted in Sepia and had to be small. Mixed media I am calling it that because I had use a little Gouache. Watercolour on Bockingford 425gsm 16 x 12 framed. I don't know about trying it it another media?
