Beautiful sensitive painting. Love the pose as well. The far away expression of the one on top is magic. Funnily enough, someone told me that my junior Flat Coated Retriever, Milly, had been a otter in a previous life (!?) - but I can well believe it when you see her swim! Does your Border Terrier swim?

Like the lighting here. The fur is very effective. Well done

I love the colours and lighting, as Thea says the pose is good.

Yes, I agree with Thea, Angela and Carole's comments. They are sooo cute, lovely colours, glad to see you back "in the saddle" so to speak. Love Val.

So agree about the border terriers. This is lovely. I did one years ago in watercolour but ended up having to use gouache on it which sent it chalky and I have never liked mine since. I'd enjoy this one.

Jeannette...I didn't see this earlier on....I am totally WOWED! You really do have a magical touch. Thank you for your comment on Willacy...had it not been for her comments (yours) I would have missed these gorgeous otters...You are so generous with your comments and I feel warmed and flattered whenever you comment on my work. Thank you so much.

PS; You give me the incentive to try more animal portraits in colour...my giraffes worked OK so fingers crossed. If only 'time' didn't exist.....so much to stimulate, so much to be done as 'tempus' keeps fugitting!!! And oh boy, doesn't it!

This is a lovely picture, the pose is just great.

Absolutely charming Jeannette, and so lifelike. You really have captured the cheeky but vulnerable expression they portray. Very well done. love Bill

Hi jeannette, well its lovely to see you back right on form, cannot add much to whats allready been said, this is just super, love the way you have them posed,...excellent work, as usaul. thankyou for youe message, yes i'm ok thanks, your very sweet to ask. had some family problems of late, so my mind has not been on painting,...do not know if i can get back in the saddle, so to speak..but will try soon. Love Rhian x

Beautiful composition, Jeannette. It's difficult to do animal portraits without them looking twee, but you have really succeeded here. Well done.

So so sweet Jeannette! Everything has been said. I join them.

Beautiful painting. What's velour like to work on - never used it? The pose is great and the texture of the fur is just wow! Again you've used some lovely subtle colours which give the subject life. love Jean

Hello Jeannette, love these cheeky pair of chappies, very well done. You are the garden expert and I am the beginner at painting flowers, so rather nervous about how to arrange them for best results etc, but many thanks for your kind comments.

Hi Jeannette, Came back to look at the Fishermen again, but can't find it. This is a dear one. Thanks for your lovely comments. Hope all's well, Colleen

Hi, Jeannette. Just found this one- really charming & I love the colouring.

Love Otters. My Border Terrier reminds me of them with her Otter like face. Idea taken from a photo on a free website. Pastel on Velour 20 x 16"
