It Springtime in North Carolina, 70 degrees today. This bluebird is making a home in our bird box. Bluebirds are territorial, they prefer open grassland with scattered trees. Males identify the nest site and attempt to attract female mates by singing and flapping their wings, and then place some material in a nesting box or tree cavity. If the female accepts the male and nesting site, she alone builds the nest and incubates the eggs.
