Jane Clarke sent in her version of Paul's exercise saying: 'I used a board that had already been underpainted with left over red and green and then applied gesso with a palette knife and made imprints into it with bubble wrap. This was allowed to dry and then I started with the sky using fingers to smear on Primary blue and white. The building was painted using red, white and again some blue using a credit card. The grassy areas were painted using a large brush and feather to incorporate some texture. The foreground had 'bubble wrapped' gesso so many colours were smeared to catch in the texture, artbars were shaved, water was sprayed, feathers were dragged and finally I felt it all needed tying together so I put a blue wash in the corner and over the grassy area.'
