Barry Baxter sent in his version of Paul's exercise saying: 'I painted this by initially letting my shadow colours pour and merge in the general shape of the wall and when that was almost dry I turned the painting through 90 degrees and did the same with my shaded grass colours horizontally across the piece. Whilst all this was going on I had vaguely masked off the sun lit areas. My general plan was warm shadows emphasised by the bright sun and consequently lighter tree and distant grass areas as the focal point.'
