Lest we forget Our unlikely heroes As week by week by our doors’ steps With hands, pans and pots applauded As they answered the call of duty Gallantly like courageous armies, With People of commonwealth and foreign-born, With the common purpose to serve and protect, The Queen and the country they love so dear.
