A long time since I've been there, but that's just as I remember it - very fine work.

Excellent rendering! Perfection.

This is beautifully done, the detailing is spot on and the stonework is particularly impressive.

Very good, all that stonework would have driven me crazy!

I also remember this from a visit to lovely York many years ago. This is an excellent painting Nick, capturing the character and solid bulk of the gatehouse.

Super painting Nick.

A superb painting. I particularly like the way you have painted the stonework.

A great sense of place with super depth and perspective Nick. Love the little detail.

This is so realistic and painted to perfection too Nick! I visited York in 2014 and when I was young child lived near Bootham and walked along Micklegate quite often when I attended college later on...the old stone wall and arch looks fantastic and this is a beauty of a painting indeed! 👏🌟🌟🌟

This is lovely - the detail is spot on, and it must have taken ages.

I know it well, used to live on the York South Bank about 5 minutes walk from here and I recognised it straight away, with the gallery on the left a nice place too. Love the warm colours, got the stone and brickwork perfectly.

Thanks for all the great comments, I’m a bit spoilt living in york, lots of subject matter
