Amazing - how long did this take you!?

This is excellent and certainly deserves to be shown at Patchings , well done Nick .

A wonderful painting.

I'm not a BIT surprised it has been chosen for display at Patchings. You have demonstrated so much sensitivity with your colours, your brush, your composition, and it so readily crosses the line between abstract and figurative painting as to make the distinction between the two fade into irrelevance. It even reflects the typical January light.

Incredible painting Nick

Thanks for all the lovely comments, I'm taking it down to patching next wednesday, all framed up and ready to show. It didn't take too long Heather, I spent a lot of time thinking of the composition, I really enjoyed this one.

I took inspiration from nature for this painting. A crisp morning walk in January near my home, a bright blue sky, with a bare tree reflected in the water. It is almost abstract while being a realistic painting of the scene. I am delighted to say it has been chosen to be displayed in the Patchings Art Exhibition later this year.
