Beautiful detail Mike, still scared of them - I lived in Malaysia for six years and came face to face with a King Cobra in my garden,thought it was just another snake until the gardener told me otherwise still haven't recovered from the shock, fortunately it was captured, the black cobras were a regular thing too. Like to look at them from afar. Going back to your painting love the detail and shine you have got with the scales - great painting.

wow! My 2 greatest fears are electricity and SNAKES! This one sure looks real, almost photographic,the shine on the eyes and nose is superb

Spiders put the fear in me but this portrait was painted from a photo as you may have guessed. Many thanks for all your great comments.
