Really delightful, would make a wonderful greetings card, if you haven't done so already.

Lovely painting full of character and very evocative.

Nice work Mike it reminds me of similar buildings in Norwich, I hope someone paints them before they disappear , and paints them as well as you have these, fine gallery.

I suppose a lot of the redevelopment we've undergone over the years had to be done, given the dilapidated state of buildings, lack of suitability to modern use and so on - but why is it that new development hasn't a fraction of the character of what it replaced? You've caught some of that character in your painting, the colours and tones of which well represent just one part of what's been lost.

Many thanks for all your comments. It's a bit of a hobby horse of mine hence the Vanishing Oxford series and I'm old enough to remember some of the buildings before the "developers" started in earnest. I have based some paintings on older memories supplied by some great local Edwardian photographers such as Henry Taunt, who have with great forsight preserved some images of how we lived.

I like this very much; lots of character.

What a lovely corner and gorgeous watercolour!

Very nostalgic painting, with great textures.

What a beautiful scene and marvellous painting. I love the colours you used: very strong and yet there is a lot of sunlight in it.

Very characteristic of Victorian England. Great treatment of chiaroscuro
