Beautiful - a burst of colour.

Oh it's beautiful Michael, Love it a lot :)

A lovely explosion of colour to brighten a dismal day!

Love these colours, looks great.

Yes, we like it. And should we expect a new cartoon any time soon?

Lovely piece, Michael, you control the inks beautifully.

Thanks all - they such a joy to use without any mixing or faffing about - straight from the bottle - no restrictions - just play around encouraging the ink to flow where you want it to and await the results.

Don't like it....love it!!!

Your abstracts are getting better and better Michael ; this is a stunner. I've never worked with acrylic inks, and this has encouraged me to have a go. Can I ask, are the white parts in the center washed out, as in watercolour, or is that also a layer of ink ?

Oh yes!!! I love these inks because of their vibrant colours. Nice one , Michael.

Thanks Fiona and Sharon. Sharon to help I'll explain how I work in ink. I tend to use mountboard off-cuts hence they tend to be on the small size - must work on some larger scale works. You can work on watercolour paper providing it is heavy weight or any other material if it comes to that. I then spray water onto the mountboard but not all over and then drop the ink onto the surface - this gives some interesting marks as the ink flows and bursts across the surface. After that it is a matter of the artistic eye - i spray water across the ink, hold the board at different angles to allow the inks to run and merge, add more colours if I think it needs it, blot out some of the colours before they sink in and stain the board, also by spraying around the edges you can get the inks to fade away as in this one etc etc. Have a go - great fun and you do get some great abstracts as a result - after a bit of practice. In this painting the light in the middle is where I didn't allow the ink to run - think I may have done a bit of blotting as well

Thanks Jennifer your comments came in whilst I was typing the epistle above.
