It’s a really good sketch Mia, I’m sure you have put your own mark on it. I think it’s a good way to learn and develop your skills and most of the time you do your own sketch , that are always excellent.

Different for you - like it a lot and a great sketch

Yes, it's a good, lively sketch Mia!

Something different Mia, but in your simple and very good style.

Lovely sketch 👌

An excellent piece Mia, so beautiful.

I have just looked for the drawing and found it, I think you have done an excellent drawing Mia, of the original.

I like the composition Mia.

Really good sketch

Thank you very much for your positive comments. When I saw the Van Dyck drawing, it was love at first sight. I liked the simplicity of it and the tree in the foreground.

Rather lovely Mia. I wasn’t aware of his sketches like this, so thank you, will look it up!

Thank you very much Tessa.

Lovely Mia, so few lines say so much sometimes, excellent

You could photostat it onto printer watercolour paper and enjoy putting some colour washes on it? Just a thought Mia.

Thanks Carole and David for those positive comments. Well David, that's a challenge. I will give it a try in a few days. Gives me a lot to think about but I will give it a go.

Looking through an old catalogue of Van Dyck drawings and sketches, I liked this sketch so much that I wanted to copy it. I started immediately with a sepia pen and this is the result. I know you can't compare but I am rather pleased with it. What do you think? All comments are very welcome :) Mia
