This is so lovley Mia and also food for thought in the text, well done.

So very beautiful Mia. It's so classically simple and elegant, but without falling into the trap of being soulessly zen. It's really quite perfect.

Helo Mia! Another beautiful one... I agree with Seok! (Not too personal at all!! I was born and raised in Finland, to a finnish mother and a dutch father. Then when the time came to go to the university, I wanted to do it in The Netherlands as to get to know the country and my 2 uncles families a bit more. So I studied for four years at HKU in Utrecht and got my bachelors degree in fine art! I speak dutch fluently, but I never learned to write or speak it grammatically correct, unfortunately...) And thank you so much for your positive feedback/critic, I appreciate it a lot! Jenny

Thank you for your lovely comments, Margaret, Seok and Jenny.

This is such a lovely collection Mia, so delicate with beautiful calligraphy.

Delicate and perfect, Mia. Sometimes less is really more and that is the case with this one. I wish the saying was true though - I am not sure that you get everything you want if you wait - what do you think?

I am very grateful about your positive comments, Val & Thea. You are right, Thea, it as not always true. Sometimes you can wait forever and it doesn't happen.

Lovely, and thought provoking.

Thank you very much, Lesley!

That's a Chinese motif I think - what does it mean? It's a fabulous design whatever it means, and your delicate drawing works very well with the strong calligraphy.... Wish I could read Chinese pictograms - I have quite a collection of them, but unfortunately they might mean No Smoking, or Stand Clear of the Doors for all I know..... One lifetime just isn't enough to learn everything....!

Thank you Robert for taking the time to have a look at our work and posting a comment. To be honest, I don't think it means anything. Since we are working together, Harrie has completely changed his idea about calligraphy and instead of writing a whole poem on a sheet of paper, my way of drawing and painting (very strongly influenced by the japanese calligraphy) convinced him that a simple design can say more than a whole text. So he attended a workshop to study making curls and waves. I know that, before he puts his brush or pen on the real (my) paper, he already made 15 or more curls on a scrap paper. This involves a lot of stress, as you can imagine, because it has to be done in one stroke, no hesitation allowed!!! Because he is such a talented person, I never had to do my drawing or painting again. Can I ask you, if you like his work, to have a look at his website and put a comment on his "gastenboek", even in English? Thanks!!

Mia, such a beautiful piece and profound words...Like Robert, I see something Oriental in this. I do read Chinese and japanese. The calligraphy looks like the word meaning treasure :things valued for its rarity, extreme high workmanship, beauty, associations, etc....If Harrie's design came only through his imagination, this would be such a wonderful coincidence...

Mia, I also want to thank you for your congrtulation to me. I truly appreciate it..

Sorry for being so late with my thanks, Ping, but we went on a holiday trip to Germany and just came back on Sunday. Thank you very much for your comment. Next time I see Harrie, I will ask him if he saw the word somewhere or if it was painted from his imagination.
