Good effort Max, The depth and distance is somewhat improved here. I encourage copying for students, in the beginning. They soon learn where they want to be. Consider though, the weaker colour of the near building on the left and the stronger colour at the top of the cliff on the right. Which is the nearer in effect and which should appear to be more distant? The strength of your colours needs a little more thought when considering depth. Your sky is good and the cliff / hill on the left is correct in appearance. KEEP IT UP. My thanks for your lovely comment on the 'BAMBURGH CASTLE' painting of mine. How's the family? Love ~ M.

Thank you Maureen for your continued help with my painting efforts i do appreciate them & will take your advice......Mum continues to improve & she hopes to be home in her own bungalow on the 2nd of september.......her little dog is doing fine in our care........we still have our problems but carry on in our own way......thank you for asking.

What a lot going on in this picture, I see you are back to your beloved boats and sea. How about strengthening the foreground a bit more to give more of a sense or recession? Lovely, lovely colours.

Thank you Sylvia for your comments....This was a part copy of Ray Balkwill's painting adapted more to my own idea especially in the distance........i agree it does need strengthening in the foreground.

I am just enjoying the patchwork of lovely colours in this painting. Are you using different paper as this looks more rough than you usually use? Maureen seems to be giving sound advice, but sometimes you can break the rules as well and it still makes for a good painting. As I have said to you all along - I just love the gung ho spirit in your painting and this comes through with a sense of fun and vibrancy. Well done.

I did this on the same paper i alway's use......I had to think of something differant to the original....the artist himself lives a few streets away from us & had our art group to his studio last year & gave demonstrations on how he did his paintings. I admire his paintings a lot & the phoenix is something differant.

Hi Max I missed this one...I can't give any technical comments I would rather leave those to those who really know what they are talking about...I like this it's good to try something of an artist who you admire especially when they live just around the corner...your colours are as usual exquisite

Thank you Patsy for your kind comment.....i do admire this artist & he is a very nice person to know.
