Like the way you have used the trees as an arch to lead the eye into the picture. Could your little boat have been painted a bit stronger?

Agree with Sylvia - your boats need to be a little more defined. Try a little looseness Max - you are getting there. Well done.

I too like it Max and I agree with the above...should there not be a little bit of the sea to the left...[to balance the level on the right]...perhaps?

I like the way you tackled the land area. As suggested above, by darkening the boats would improve the painting.

You chose a difficult subject Max, but you don't improve unless you try! ...Nice one ...Best regards .. Steve

Thankyou all for your comments i see what you mean about the boats being more prominant. I am always open to suggestions so please keep them coming. I see what you mean about getting the balance of the sea right Phil which i would probably need to alter. Thanks!!

Almost a Monet feel to this painting. Once again, you have gone for a difficult composition and made a jolly good job of it. The trees framing the top of the painting are a very good lead into the scene, and have been given interesting texture in the way you have painted them. Perhaps you could have added your little touch of red to one of the boats ( I am getting hooked on your surprising little red sections). This painting has a nice gentle feel to it and I think you have tackled the problems of the difficult subject very well indeed.

I don't think i am in the same class as Monet i still have a long way to go. The texture in the trees were intended to draw you into the painting i hope i have achieved this. I am sorry i omitted to put a little red boat in this painting but will endeavour to rectify this in future paintings. At the moment i am doing a yacht with two main red sails, when finished i will post it on the gallery. Thank you again for your kind comments Thea.xx
