At last! You've put it on. I love the central focus of the painting - the touches of red on the cloth are an important addition. The almost theatrical light on the melon and squash illuminates everything. It's a classical still life yet has a very modern feel to it.

Thank you Marjorie. I really enjoyed setting this up. The melon on the right hand side was originally going to be an apple but wasn't large enough so I bought a huge melon and it just seemed to fit the bill; the colour of it was important too and it seemed to balance the composition. Not sure what to do next. I don't want to fall into an artistic black hole so will have to put on my thinking cap and get something organised pretty quickly! Glad you liked the red in the cloth - I was a bit dubious about the colour but don't think it clashes too much. Thank you too, Andre. It's very nice to get feed-back.
