Great colours and style !!!

Powerful stuff - representing the great elements of a landscape with equally great sweeps of ink and pastel. Agree with James - the style, verve, energy and brio carry the work.

Also known as Peel Castle, Hellifield Peel dates back to the 1300s, although there has been a manor house here for over 1,000 years. Peel towers were fortified watch towers intended to provide early warning and defence against Scottish raiding parties. The building has seen numerous changes and rebuilds, the last being in 2005 when its current owners, Francis and Karen Shaw, turned the then roofless and derelict ruin into a very special home and delightfully romantic guest house. The project was followed by Channel 4's 'Grand Designs' and more information about the Peel, its history, the renovation and the accomodation can be found on their website: http://peelcastle.co.uk/ Pen, ink wash and oil pastel on Crawford & Black watercolour paper 10.5" x 14.5"
