Castle Howard, home to the Howard family for over 300 years, is probably more recognisable to a certain generation as the fictional 'Brideshead' from the 1981 TV adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's 'Brideshead Revisited'. It stood in for 'Brideshead' once again for a film version of the book in 2008. Situated about 15 miles from York, Castle Howard is one of the grandest private residences in the country. Pen and ink, ink wash, gouache and oil pastel on Bockingford paper. 22" x 15"
