Some hot colours in this, but the overall impression is still of a brooding landscape, in which you rather specialize ... and I prefer it, by far, to the strong tendency present in most of us to try making things and places look prettier than they are. I've noticed, on that front, that your work hasn't been receiving many comments lately - so maybe you and I are in a minority .... I hope not, because there's a depth in your work, and jewel-like colour thanks, I would think, to glazing (eg in that bright magenta patch in the water) - yep, I like it a lot.

I love this work, not only, but especially, because of the sky. Very strong; similar to my style.

High in the Welsh hills above the Mawddach estuary, near the quarry village of Arthog, lie the two deep, dark lakes known as Llynnau Cregennan. To the left is the unusual peak of Pared y Cefn Hir, the site of an ancient hill fort; to the right the dark, brooding mass of Cadair Idris looms threateningly. In the far distance the Snowdonian peaks complete the scene. This is truly an awe-inspiring location and the great thing about it is it can be reached by car! Much of the land is now in the care of the National Trust. Acrylic on primed board 30cm x 60cm
