If ever they re-publish Dracula in an illustrated edition, make sure you grab the commission: you are the uncrowned king of Menace in landscape.

'Uncrowned King of Menace in Landscape' - oh I like that very much Robert, thank you! Note to self: time to change title on my website (www.cobbybrook.co.uk)!! LOL!

Today I returned to the ruined 15th century hunting lodge just north of Bolton Abbey. I have painted here on a number of occasions, but today was different: dark clouds loomed on the horizon providing a contrast to the odd bursts of sunlight that illuminated the crumbling masonary. Beyond, through the gateway, Eastby Fell broods ominously... Painted on location. Ink with wax resist and oil pastel. 15" x 22"
