East Riddlesden Hall II

Another dramatic painting/drawing; I much prefer this to many more considered views.

I agree with Robert: very dramatic and atmospheric. I can see wy they used it as a film location for "Wuthering Heights". You can almost feel the wind blowing... I wouldn't like to be there some dark evening!!!

East Riddlesden Hall is a 17th century manor house on the edge of the town of Keighley. The house was built in 1642 by the wealthy Halifax clothier James Murgatroyd and it sits on a plateau overlooking a bend in the River Aire. The house is now owned by the National Trust and has been used as a film location: As 'Wuthering Heights' in the 1992 'Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights' and in an episode of 1997 television series 'Sharpe'. This is the view from the overflow carpark. Painted on the spot in mixed media. 14.5" x 10.5"
