East Riddlesden Hall is a 17th century manor house on the edge of the town of Keighley. The house was built in 1642 by the wealthy Halifax clothier James Murgatroyd and it sits on a plateau overlooking a bend in the River Aire. The house is now owned by the National Trust and has been used as a film location: As 'Wuthering Heights' in the 1992 'Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights' and in an episode of 1997 television series 'Sharpe'. This is the 'traditional' view of the property, looking across the duck pond in front of the house. Painted on the spot in mixed media. 14.5" x 10.5"
