A very impressive olive tree and your palette conveys the heat perfectly.

Really captured the character of this old tree, and also the heat with the warm colors, at first I didn't like the temple in the background but now I think it adds a bit of fantasy to the scene.

You've done a great job of depicting the trees aged look Marjorie, he looks a grand old man.

Thanks Val,Kevin and Fiona. I see what you mean Kevin, now I'm not sure myself. However, it's gone back under the pile!

This is lovely - the shape of the tree and the tonal work on the trunk is so well done. Thank you very much too for your very kind comment on my collages.

I think this is terrific, Marjorie. Great shapes, and distance created by the difference in scale. Great use of colour too.

I love tyour composition and the skillful choice of harmonic colours. Well done Marjorie.

My attempt, off and on, to convey the heat of Sicily. Olive tree was hundreds of years old, protected in The Valley of the Temples, in Sicily. Acrylic on mount board, 22"x22", with thin overlay of oil pastel on tree trunk ( which was a mistake because I went back to it and was then scuppered when it came to using the acrylics again.) I enjoyed it on the whole but am glad to put it away now.
