Not to you it isn't. Lovely expressive eyes Marjorie.

Thanks Carole, still no inspiration.

You've probably gone into melt down with the other type of painting you've been doing Marjorie! It won't take you long to change your mindset and get your spark back. These eyes are captivating and I love the palette.

Yes Marjorie you have massive and enviable talent. Wonderful

You are very kind Fiona and Dennis!

I take it you've got painters block Marjorie it will soon pass your a talented artist and this picture proves it.

Lovely painting Marjorie, love the colours used for the skin tone and the piercing expression in the eyes, so good :)

There's an expression I've called upon many times in the past and it's 'if you don't know what to paint - paint something else' which is exactly what you've done - and brilliantly well too. I'm sure your 'block' will be short-lived but until it's over, keep fiddling - it sure works a treat!!!

As a beginner to this I'm like a kid in a toy store. Trying to gain knowledge and skills. At your skill level inspiration is the hardest thing to find, but it's only a blip, and you will find something to challenge your skill level and be raring to go again. As I say , a beginner can improve in large chunks, the accomplished has to work harder to find morsels .

Thankyou for the encouragement Dennis, Maria and Maureen. Andre, you are very kind, I'm in that self critical mode, which is a good thing, but very frustrating.

These eyes are very expressive, Marjorie, and well painted.

I always find it hard getting back into watercolour when I've been using other mediums but, looking at this, I'd say you were having no trouble at all. Those eyes are mesmerizing.

Thanks Val, this is only quite small but It's got me interested in wc again. I don't have a large supply anymore tho'. Last year I did buy some Jackson's "dried in the sun" paper, 200lb. I think I should have gone for the 300lb because it needs a lot of water and it cockles. I'll post the result and see what you think.
