Brilliant Marjorie love it

Looks great to me. Poppy fields are so tempting to paint, but oh so difficult to get the right balance between impression and detail. You've got it spot on.

Well this is a super painting Marjorie in all respects, the poppies are so well drawn, not overstated and the long grasses were an essential addition to push the eye upwards into the focal point.

Such a lovely piece Marjorie and I like the way you've used texture in the foreground to represent the grasses.

You're all very kind. I'm not happy with the middle ground - I'll have to think a bit more about it. Any tips? I think the problem might be upper right, middle towards back, maybe straighten the line a bit, bring down the green. Maybe I'll have resolved it when I start the larger painting.

A beautiful summer scene Marjorie, I love the foreground textures and colours.

Lovely view and I like the way the poppies disappear in the distance, Marjorie. I think you might be right about the spot you mentioned, straightening the rows a bit but that is just a little detail, easy to correct. The overall impression is lovely!

Lovely, Majorie - I really like the way you start to define the poppies as they get closer to us and the way the ears of corn cut across the rich redness. All topped off with a brilliant blue sky - wonderful scene beautifully captured.

This is a very good 'sketch'. I look forward to your larger version.

This is a wonderful scene, the horizon level promotes the beautiful field. The diagonal poppies make it very interesting and I love the impasto wheat ears Marjorie.

looking forward to seeing the larger version, love the texture in the foreground.

Poppy fields are so lovely aren't they and it is very difficult to capture the impact they make. I really like the foreground textured grasses and poppies but agree that the middle ground needs to be strengthened. How to do it, I have no idea!

Wow, what a stunning study! I love the textures and how you handled the atmospheric perspective. It's beautifully done, Marjorie, and I look forward to seeing the larger piece!

Simply a lovely painting Marjorie 'nuff said!

My little oil sketch worked up into a painting. Larger one to start, using this info. Still got to get to grips with some problems
