Wonderful Malcolm looks terrific

No details. just shapes but telling and explanatory shapes, smashing Malcolm

I like this kind of telling a story paintings. Keep it Malcom.

Thank you so much Dennis, Derek and Holger I wanted to try a simplistic approach partly because of the vast scale of the place you soon loose any detail of things out there and I wanted people to hopefully let their own minds fill in the detail. I have always believed that when you are actually walking a hill, moor or whatever, you only see the detail that is in front of you not the mass of detail everywhere else around you as you see in some mountain paintings. So thank you for your comments much appreciated.

Good colours in this informative painting Malcolm. Wouldn't like to carry those packs!

Thanks Carole, I did carry one of the porter loads for a short time and believe me, apart from giving the Porters a laugh it made my own pack feel like a bag of feathers afterwards.

That's a good painting Malcom as its heartfelt and tells a story

Thanks Dermot much appreciated.

This is a painting based on Porters setting off back onto the Biafo Glacier on my trip to Snow Lake and beyoung in the Karacoram mountains. Because the glacier is to dangerous to camp on at the end of every day we had to climb up of it to find a site and then the next day climb back down onto the glacier to start again, the glacier was dangerous because it was flowing down and was just a chotic mass of ridges and deep crevasses also these are 'dirty' glaciers meaning they carry a lot of rock debrie on top and as soon as the sun hits the stones and rocks start to tumble so its an interesting place to walk through. The porters are carrying the big blue food barrels plus other kit like tentage etc. amazing people.

I have always loved the outdoors and have climbed and walked in various places in the world, after giving numerous slide shows and talks about my trips to raise money for charity, i realised the slides and photos did not do what i saw justice, so I decided to start trying to paint. I am self taught…
