Thanks for that Derek, even though I only took a photo and did a quick pencil sketch on the day of this situation, the fact I still got a walk in made it all worth while.

You are putting that pen to good use Malcolm. There are some lovely marks and lively squiggles, the smoke is very well handled too. An all round winner!

This is another dip pen sketch and this is of a woodsman I saw one year near Thirlmere in the Lakes after I had gone to walk on Helvelen but the weather had pushed me off, it was a cold wet autumn day and the ground was wet and thick with that carpet of moss you get in those woods part of which had been cleared.
