We can't see the likeness, not knowing the subject, but I do know the difficulty faced. You've succeeded in a wonderful soft sympathetic portrait, with a lovely mix of warm and cool colours. Try as I may I find it so difficult to do portrait in watercolour, as I always paint wet in wet, but you 've kept the lights and the washes are terrific.. Really well done Lynne.

Thank you so much Andre - I also usually prefer to paint more wet in wet but it's almost impossible to maintain a likeness when using that technique as you can't control the washes !

Very good work very accomplished.. Well to me.. It looks terrific.

Very lovely watercolour, Lynne. I like much these soft washes and the portrait is very well done. Thank you for your generous comments on my portraits.

A beautiful lightness in your use of colour. Simply lovely.

Nothing is fairly simple Lynne, as we all know, but you have a superb portrait here, well done indeed, they are so difficult in watercolour.

Great portrait, Lynne - lovely skin tones, and the background provides a strong contrast...

Super portrait indeed Lynne! Marvellous soft touch on the skin and beautifully painted eyes. Well done!!

Can't add much more. Excellent painting with a soft glow.

Lovely sensitive portrait
