These are the very gregarious European Bee-eaters - the most colourful of their species. I remember seeing a group of these beautiful birds whilst visiting South Africa, so couldn't resist putting pastel to paper when I saw a photo by Michele Bavassano. Their colours are so striking and it was a pleasure to capture.
