hi this is so pretty the colours work beatifully together from paula

Another very different one, this one could be the pattern of a very expensive wallpaper you would find in an 18th century stately home. Perhaps in the 'Chinese room' or the 'Red room'!! It's lovely, I hope you don't mind me comparing it to a wallpaper sample Louise.

It is lovely it would also make a lovely design for fabric too.I think gouache could be classed as watercolour as you only mix it with water.Seems logical to me.

Thanks Paula, Fiona, and Joy. Years ago I used to do fabric and wallpaper designs. I know it shows ! :}

I agree with above comments, great colours too.

Very lovely, great colours, I agree with Joy and Fiona it is a really nice pattern for fabric or wallpaper

Gosh - I should sell this design to Laura Ashley as it would make fabulous wallpaper! You are so good on design that I will be surprised if you don't become the next Vivienne Westwood of textiles. Super colours, and as I said, such a strong and clever design.

I agree with the above comments and they said it much better than I ever could! Beautiful for fabric or wallpaper: yes!!!

Thanks Carole, Petra, Thea and Mia. With fabric designs, there needs to be a repeating pattern. This is my downfall, I'm too lazy to work it out.! Nowdays, they probably use computers etc. This does look quite good mounted and framed but it lives in my art drawer :}

Louise, wish I'd found your fabric designs when I was doing up my house! This is a gorgeous, gorgeous piece - beautiful colors, contemporary and yet also beautifully classic. It's a wonderful piece of art, whichever medium you choose to work with.

You have great colour sense which I think marks out a" Naiman" from the rest,

13 is an unlucky number, so obviously I must add a 14th.. Well, it's my duty.... Gouache counts as body colour, opaque watercolour, or water-based media. Haven't used it for years, but intend to do so again. It would make superb wallpaper - don't need to repeat the pattern, a roll of this interspersed with a plain alternative or another design would work well. And I certainly don't despise design - it was good enough for William Morris, after all. It would also work as a silk screen .....a scroll.... Even as a print for a dress - I can see it now! And I'd look just LOVELY in it.... No; no, I wouldn't. But seriously - this is a great design, and you should sell it to someone who could develop it.

Many thanks Robert.!

A beautiful design, it seems very contemporary.

gouache 32 cm x 32 cm. This is an old gouache work of mine which I couldn't resist showing you. I'm never sure whether gouache paint is classed as watercolour!
