Very nice. Love the colours of the two women in the foreground.

It certainly does Louise! I would have no idea how to start with something like this I would need to draw it up first that is why the one-liner method has been such a revelation to me. No pre-drawing at all would be a step too far though! Lovely colours!

Good composition and I like the central blue figure. You certainly get the impression of that back to work Monday morning blues feeling!

Thank you Kal, Christine and Debs for you kind words. Monday morning blues is a good title Debs, I should do a 'Black Friday' next time!!

Lovely feeling of movement here Louise, good feeling of recession with the figures diminishing in size and greyer colours as they recede. I Suppose if we look quickly at a scene like this, we do not see much detail, whereas a photo gives much greater detail. probably why your method produces good results?

Or perhaps I just like to paint quickly Stephen? If I start penciling in the shapes, it's difficult for me not to just follow the lines too much. Also, it's so frustrating for me to spend time drawing and even worse rubbing out the pencil lines (damaging the paper surface) and then for the watercolour to go wrong. I do work from photos but try to leave out all the detail really. I think that I only have a couple of pencils and rarely touch them. I just don't like the things! A paint brush or pen which can't be rubbed out are much more exciting to use I think!

\I do like the way you use your washes Louise - nice and fluid and juicy.

It does look like Monday morning blues Louise, great atmosphere!

Lovely vibrant piece Louise - I also like the lighter hues used and the scale decrease for the figures that are further away.

Gosh, I missed a few of yours while I was away. This is so dynamic, immediate, spontaneous and all the other words that describe a painting which just works and this one does - in spades.

Many thanks Michael, Satu, Joseph and Thea!

No pre drawing which I think hopefully adds spontaneity? Watercolour 22 cm x 26 cm.
