Lovely, loose and spontaneous sketch, Louise. Well done!

Very well thought out and vibrant sketch. I say well thought out because using the one rich colour down the left side of the painting could have left it looking unbalanced. However, you cleverly put the bright red car on the right, which immediately provided the interest on that side too, making sure the viewers eyes were encouraged to travel around the work. Lovely dynamic lines and good figures as well.

hi louise I like your line and wash Thomas street.it is very free flowing and looks very fresh and spontaneous. I hope I spelt that last word right.

Lively sketch Louise, I'm getting to know Manchester all over again! [ was a student there donkeys years ago!]

Thank you Thea, Dennis and Debs. The spelling looks correct to me Dennis and Debs, I'm just getting to know Manchester properly through painting it and I've lived here all my life! I used some coloured inks on this which I've had for many years and just discovered in among the clutter of my 'painting cupboard'. It just goes to show that some products last a very long time! I have a collection of oils that my Dad used probably about 50 years ago and some tubes still feel squashy. I won't be using them though. I wouldn't know where to begin with oils!

I don't think I can add much more; effective use of the colours. I really like this one.

Right up my street (no not Thomas Street - ink and wash) - this is really great use of the pen - almost a twig-like quality about it.

I love it Louise! There is a new, fresh approach to the subject and it works really well.

Thank you Gudrun, Michael and Satu.

Love the composition of this Louise, The red car on the right is a really clever touch.

This ranks as one of my favorites in your gallery, Louise! I love the vibrant, energetic linework and limited palette. Excellent work!

I love the casualness of everything here, with the people ambling about, it just all comes together so well Louise

Thank you Glennis, Michelle, Seok and Ros for your kind comments!
