Totally different much quieter colourwise but beautiful non the less.

Gosh, who wouldn't be proud of this for a first! It's lovely.

Indeed, it is different. Agree with the comments, it is lovely.

Full of promise, a brilliant first watercolour

A lovely watercolour, so delicate. My, how you have changed!! Your'e so versatile.

Thank you all so much. I am fond of this painting as it brings back memories ! I know my style has changed drastically but the bridge stll features alot in newer works.:}

Always interesting to go back and see what we've gained, and lost (there's usually something), and to identify those features and themes that remain unaltered even after decades. I've just been doing the very same thing - and would have been very happy to find this amongst my various oeuvres....

Thanks for commenting Robert. Sometimes I look at old works and wonder how I did them! From this painting I feel that I'm much more confident now, some of the brush marks here look rather hesitant! I do remember feeling quite nervous when I put the darker sploges of colour in the foreground incase I ruined it! I've definately changed!:}

Very, very lovely, Louise! So full of light and atmosphere, and your first piece too! I am completely green with envy!

If this is your first watercolour, you certainly should be very proud of it. It is beautiful. I wish my first watercolour looked like this one! Louise, I posted an answer about the pencil drawing on my Sussex cottage /2. I agree with you 100%!

Goodness - your style certainly has changed. We all start out with a way of painting and the fun is watching it evolve. I don't think art is, or should be, a static thing, so it is always nice to see these progressions. If this was your first painting then I am very impressed - you should see my first one - totally pants!!!

Thanks Thea ! I've painted a few "totally pants" paintings since !

Three paintings in the Top Ten - that's what I call a result!! Really well done - so well deserved as they are all very interesting and lovely paintings.

Congratulations Louise on equalling the three out of ten achieved by Thea and I , You both are far to prolific (and good ) for me to challenge the watercolour queens,so I shall slink away quietly apart from a sob or two brought on by undisguised envy of artists with such talent. : )

Congratulations Louise on your top ten - three places!! Well done
