Dynamic, loose, expressive .... what more can I say. Another wonderfully immediate painting from Louise, who is the master (or mistress) of expanding a theme and coming up with better and better paintings as she goes along. I particularly love the lettering on the pub(?) as it adds such a note of authenticity. Super strong colours as well, which is very in keeping with the strength and bulk of buildings in a city.

I have just looked through your series of city paintings Louise and you have inspired me to be brave and get out there. I haven't painted for ages and keep looking at a blank sheet of paper and thinking 'I don't know what to paint' so I end up painting nothing. I'm going to brave it like you and go out there with a black drawing pen and the new pochade box of paints my sister bought me and just slap down what I see and see what happens. Thankyou for shaking me out of my 'artist's block'.
