blue and white vase

Just beautiful, Louise. The vase is brilliant. :) Is this an early work or did you manage to find time around your busy schedule to paint it.

Thanks Sarah, not that old ! I didn't do any preliminary drawing on the vase, just went straight in with the brush ! At one point I thought I wasn't going to fit in the pattern but it worked out ok ! :)

Lovely fresh and loose feel to this painting. Love the vibrant and cheerful poppies and the vase is brilliantly painted. I wouldn't have had the patience to do all that pattern, so hats off to you! I think your colour combinations have worked especially well.

The only reason I've not commented on your recent paintings is that I had a horrid computer failure: any donations of Microsoft Office would be welcome: don't all rush... I certainly would have commented on your latest 6 postings, if not more - this one is beautifully judged, and your designs in the previous postings are brilliant.

Many thanks Thea and Robert. Thea, the vase didn't take long as it's not an exact copy of the pattern.! The flowers were more of a problem, I overworked them. Also the vase had a flat base. That elipse again, I had to paint over it and give it more of a curve before you spotted it :) Robert, I was getting worried about you :)
