Smashing Louise, and I think I'm recognising Oxford Road again. Really like this.

Ooooo...this is really good Louise. Great perspectives, especially the directional brush work. The dark colour on the overhang looks super with the yellow.

Thanks Jim, Kirstie and Fiona. Very kind of you as I'm not too sure! It was a bit of a struggle. The perspective was a killer and I rather feel that I'm out of practice. Inspiration is lacking and hopefully it's just the time of year. Quite gloomy here! Yes Jim, it's Oxford Road which I keep at as I feel I'm not winning :)

It is smashing indeed!! I love the dark parapet, the figures waiting and the overall atmosphere. Don't loose faith Louise, it's only because it's January, the longest and darkest month of the year. Soon it will be spring again x

I really like the colours in this Louise and the perspective is spot on! The only issue is the man in the foreground he looks like he's walking down the platform but he's facing us, is he turning round or is he carrying his back pack in front of him?

I agree good perspective and I like the eye level it includes the viewer Louise.

Thanks Satu, Christine and Carole. I keep telling myself it'll soon be Spring Satu but today's been particularly gloomy here! He has his backpack to the front of him Christine..as some do. Probably feels safer that way. My worry was that he looked as though he was floating and I'm not sure how to solve that if I try the subject again. A lady with a handbag might be better :) The perspective was tricky Carole as it was hard for me to paint the people the right size to fit in properly. I'm not quite there yet and will probably paint the scene once more. Thanks all for the encouragement. It's good for me to hear your thoughts.

Agree it works great Louise really well balanced as always

Well painted Louise. More difficult the subject, more successful.

Thanks Dennis and Cesare :)

Love this Louise, for all the reasons already mentioned. Youre too critical of yourself regarding perspective, it works fine.

Thanks Sharon. The perspective is ok I know, I'm just undecided about this one and it's good to hear what others think :)

I think your perspective is great Louise, so much to look at in this super painting.

Wow Louise. One of your best! Brilliant.

Wonderful composition and execution, Louise!

It's not platform for Preston and the North is it? Just been there and you have captured the gloom!

Many thanks Margaret, Shirley and Ruth. I feel better about this one now :) It wouldn't have been this platform Christine but the other one there which I imagine you would have used looks almost identical. Not sure as I don't use the train that much. Oxford Road station is quite small compared to the main more modern Piccadilly one which I use sometimes if going by train to London. Haven't painted that one yet which has got me thinking..it would make a good subject! I sometimes use Oxford Rd station to catch the small train to near home and the train from this platform (2) ends up at Liverpool St station. It doesn't go near Preston. I quite like Oxford Road station as it's smaller and rather old fashioned. This platform is on the right side when you go in. Definitely gloomy today I imagine as the weather's been awful! Hope you had a good day and remembered the umbrella :)
