So do you mean no preliminary drawing first Louise? I like this!

Thanks Adele. I don't draw with pencil, just the fine rigger brush for the dark outlines of the buildings. Then I just add colour with a larger paint brush. I prefer painting this looser way as I seem to have an aversion to pencil lines :)

Nice one, Louise.

Great!, that's the best way to start, forget messing about with pencils, and it shows with the fluidity of the whole thing, superb Louise.

Thanks Cesare and yes Alan, pencil lines don't work for me. All that planning, fiddling and trying to get the perspective and accuracy right with a pre pencil drawing results in the loss of spontaneity I find. Plus, there's all that rubbing out, mess and frustration!

I agree with Alan, great feeling of ease and carefree painting (being a watercolour painter I appreciate carefree isn't always how we feel....).

Thanks Caroline. What's that they say.. 'grab the moment' or in our case, that 'carefree moment' LOL.

Again a lot of atmosphere and spontaneity, Louise. Beautiful!

Lovely cityscape! You are so brilliant with your rigger Louise. I haven't even got one. Your 3D understanding and perspective is also excellent.

Many thanks Satu, Mia and Gudrun. I have a few rigger brushes Satu. I love using them :)

Bold and confident Louise.

That's what makes your paintings look so fresh and natural Louise, you don't labour over them with lead. I have some pencils, they are still in the box I bought them in six years ago! As for the rigger, I have two which I like using, one at the moment is feeding and watering a young bird!lol

Yes a good flowing painting Louise.

Thanks Sarah, Fiona and Carole for your nice comments which I do appreciate. I do like birds though Fiona..you've put the brush to good use. Good luck, hope it thrives!
