It has worked Louise. I love the way you lay one wash over another to build up shadows and textures.

I was about to say how nice it was to see gloaming! Yes, it has worked out well.

An accidental nocturne, but a happy accident! It works beautifully. The darkening sky and the lady in the foreground rushing home at the end of the day - super piece, Louise!

Watercolour is all about happy accidents and occasionally, I might add, just slapping some paint on and hoping for the best is the way to go. A painting you weren't too happy about has been transformed into a strong painting which has a great atmosphere. Well done for persevering!
