I've missed seeing these townscapes Louise, this is wonderful, how you make sense of that jumble of buildings I don't know!

Great work Louise I can see the homeless hotel

Brilliant Louise, I've also missed these townscapes, tremendous vitality and conviction.

Many thanks Christine, Dennis, Michael and Alan. This is the second version of this scene that I've painted so probably I've got to know my way round the buildings Christine! The first painting which I spent a long time on, I wasn't at all happy with. The result has been binned, lesson learned. This one took little time and I just went straight in with the rigger brush. Much happier with this one. To any that know Manchester, that's the town hall in the distance on the left. I took my reference photographs from the top of a multi storey car park!

Stunning work as always Louise, Don't know the skyline although have visited, but I am sure it works fine.

Thanks Derek..you'll have to take my word for it!

This is so rich and wonderful, Louise! I love the very dark sky above the city, it creates a marvellous background to those deep reds.

Wonderful painting well done. Satu got it right with the dark sky. You cannot beat a rigger it just like using pen.

Thank you Malcolm. More fun than a pen I think as you can vary the thickness of the line!

The skyline is beautifully set off by that dark blanket of sky Louise, and I'm sure your lines have captured an excellent likeness of the scene.

Punchy little picture.

Many thanks Fiona and Shirley!

Always like these dark background paintings Louise, lovely as always.

Manchester.....Definitely! Well done, Louise.

Thanks Carole and Ruth. You spotted the town hall then Ruth? lol
