Amazing work Louise! Superb lively lines, figures and washes defining tones and shapes. That dark sky sets it off perfectly.

This is wonderful, but deserves a better title than M/C sketch! I think I would have called it 'The End of the Day' which suggests office workers making for the buses and trains to go home after a day in the office. Anyway, just my personal thoughts about that. This painting has such life and richness about it and a sense of people bustling about with purpose. Super strong washes of colour make this exciting and lively to view - love it!

A lovely painting Louise, love the colours and pen work

Agree brilliant love it every thing in the perfect proportion superb Louise

Thank you Fiona, Thea and David, good of you to comment and say such nice things. I call it a sketch Thea because for me, because it took little time and is rather rushed off, that's what it is! I've discovered only recently that doing this gives me a feel for the subject and that knowledge of whether I want to take it any further. I never used to do this but now, after the quick sketch, know in my mind where to take it next. Tomorrow possibly and I now have a title!

Rich and moody, like the figures also.

Fabulous sketch Louise, so lively and well drawn, great atmosphere also.

Dare I say this has a good 'buzz' about it? lol! Rich velvety colours and lots of lively pen work, nice one!

Very dramatic Louise with that dark sky. Your " sketches" always exude confidence, I would have agonised over this!

Super painting Louise! So much to look at and I love the rich colours you have used. That golden, rusty orange is new.

Full of interest - I can just let my eyes wander - great sketch.

Many thanks David, Alan, Debs, Marjorie, Satu and Michael. Michael, I am quite pleased with the figures and pleased you noticed them! Marjorie, nothing to agonise over when drawing like this. Best not to worry about being accurate or trying to include things like every single window. My vertical lamp posts were sloping badly so I just went over them with a thicker pen. So many faults but to me, they don't matter at all. It's all about enjoying the pen lines which sounds silly, but I do enjoy the actual mark making. Adding the paint is the tricky bit which began to look a bit tight so I just sprayed the whole thing with water and left it to dry. Then I tidied it up a bit. I feel that we have to try these things out. If it goes wrong it doesn't really matter, just do another one.. I shall have to remember all this tomorrow ..LOL

Love your painting Louise, gorgeous colours and full of life :)

You have given a lot of life and colour to this familiar scene.

Thank you Stephen and perhaps you recognise the place ? That's Debenhams on the left!

Bold, confident and full of spontaneity. Superb, Louise!
