Wow, a real gem Louise, very striking indeed. I'm struggling on my city scene in oils, so having a break for an hour. This is so spontaneous, love it.

Louise's quickies are in themselves masterpieces.

Thanks Alan. No pre pencil drawing here which explains my wobbly lines and leaning balconies! I find that I get a feel for a subject by sketching like this and an idea as to whether I want to use the scene for a painting. Not this time, the scene didn't really excite me but I do appreciate your nice comment.

Thank you as well Derek. I do like your words!!

A real gem - I have just completed a pre-drawn (in ink) watercolour but not to this standard - will post it as soon as I've photo'd it - about to have lunch - smells good.

Spontaneous, vibrant and bold. Lovely work, Louise!

Thank you Seok and Michael. I shall look out for it after lunch Michael. Off to put the heating on, so cold here today!

So lovely so free and looks so easy Louise?

I've just finished a pen & wash myself Louise....not a cityscape, I would tie myself up in knots! Personally I love wonky lines and leaning balconies, this is just great!

Many thanks Dennis, Helen and Fiona. I'd have made a rubbish architect. Precise, measured drawings would be too difficult for me Dennis!

You make them look so easy to draw Louise and I know that they are not. I love the wonkiness, much more interesting than a very strict drawing. Of course it depends but in your city scenes it works.

Great line and wash-this may be Manchester but I know you do many views of this city.I think of Morrissey when Manchester crops up,All those great lyrics

It is indeed a Manchester view David. So many modern apartments are being built, the place is nothing like the old grey days. Satu, a quick sketch like this isn't difficult because it's not completely accurate. Sometimes I feel as though the pen line is leading me, not me pushing the pen! Thank you both.

You draw with such confidence and I always get the feeling that you are able to 'feel' your way through the composition which comes from knowing your subject very well and loving the scenery of Manchester. These paintings a little masterpieces (come on now- when's the book coming out??)

Stronger lines in this one Louise, it's great.

Thanks Thea and Christine. it's just a thicker pen Christine!

These are fab Louise. Walked into town yesterday as we can park away from town and walk by river, just reminded me of it.

Lots of energetic pen work here Louise! Strong, bold work!

Loads of energy and wonderful marks here!
