Lovely strong shapes and tones Louise, love it.

Very atmospheric Louise!

Very different approach Louise but works very well.

Top drawer Louise this is something else

Beautiful Louise, love the water.

Another gorgeous painting Louise! You make the very ordinary places look so wonderful! I haven't forgotten the car park one.

Different for you Louise but still very recognisable as your style. I love the clever composition and you've made the Manchester ship canal and the docks look quite exotic, like Sydney Harbour!

Many thanks Alan, Sarah, Stephen, Dennis, Carole, Satu and Christine. This isn't really may favourite sort of subject with it being of large sky and water but I thought I'd try it for a change. I know I should wait for the sky washes to dry but can never resist moving the paint around which results in an iffy sky like this one. Not that good I know but other parts are alright which is why I posted it. Satu, I was in 'that' car park this morning. I'm there most days to be honest. With shopping bags not sketch books and Christine, you're right, it could be Sydney on a grey day! Mind you, Salford Quays is an amazing place now with wonderful, modern buildings and of course, the water. Nothing like the grim old days!

As I'm still on holiday I haven't much time to peruse the gallery and comment but I absolutely must say something about this one. I am absolutely blown away by it! How on earth did you do that water and leave those wonderful white shapes and also leaving that slash of light under the bridge is genius. Of course, I know how talented you are, but this one is in another league in my opinion. I am deeply impressed!!

wow, this is beautiful Louise. :)

Must agree with Thea - great painting.

Many thanks Thea, Maria and Michael. It's masking fluid Thea!

Love the abstract shapes on the right. You've got a great sense of movement going, the eye travels down the river and is brought to an abrupt halt by that magical white stripe. Super painting Louise.

Excellent work Louise!

Thank you Debs and Sharon!

Superb atmosphere, Louise, and what a gorgeous painting. So full of movement, with great composition.
