Black Friday

Great painting Louise - full of drama and the hustle and bustle of Black Friday madness. I like how you are leaving white areas around figures and also where you're overlapping colours.

Thanks Joseph. This is a quick sketch really as much of my work is at the moment! I'd painted a Monday scene and got the idea for this (after reading the comments) which I had to get down on paper while thinking about it. Blue Monday to Black Friday! .. How many time do I hear myself saying 'learning curve'..lol

Love it. The quick is great. Don't faff with too much detail. Spontaneous for a Sale opening is a great combination.

Many thanks Jon, Dennis and Fiona. I remember seeing the mad dash result of 'Black Friday' on the news before Christmas. I couldn't believe the shoppers' stupidity! Hopefully this isn't a boring, predictable painting..!

Just having a catch up with the gallery and saw this. I think it is brilliant and not only is it a great drawing of the actual figures but it captures the frantic-ness of sale shopping on a day like Black Friday. I also admire the way you have got light streaming through various sections of the painting. A real goodie!
