Looked at the drawing when adding the watercolour washes!

This is miles better (not that the other one wasn't very good) as I feel the spontaneity and life in your lines has come back in this one. The wobbly wheels and dynamic lines give this sketch some real oomph. I think it is really great. I have one almost ready to post and it is a subject that I wouldn't normally choose - although not sure you would have chosen cyclists in the normal way of things, would you? I feel doing these one liners is definitely making it easier for me to step out of my comfort zone.

I think it would be a bridge too far to apply washes with eyes closed, lol!! I always have to look for the painting it.

I'm pleased with this one as well Thea which is actually a bit worrying as I painted without looking. Mind you, after drawing them twice already, perhaps I had a good idea of where to place the brush. I'd never have tackled bikes but saw them as a challenge. Took minutes to draw as well. I'm really enjoying this technique and the surprising results.

You're not one to give up easily Louise! I like that you've left out the facial features and agree that this is a much more spontaneous and lively painting.

I'd have to had looked to indicate the facial features Christine. This time I stuck to the original challenge rules. Either that or I forgot them..LOL..(joke, I'm not that careless!)

Super painting Louise! You are very brave to do it with a brush and the result is so relaxed and free. Love the fat leg!

What fat leg? That's muscular..!

Sounds mad, but I didn't look at the paper at all when painting these three with the rigger, just kept my eyes firmly on the reference photograph and almost managed one line. No more today..promise!
