Thank you all so much for such encouraging comments on a painting that I struggled a bit with. Manchester is full of lovely red brick buildings so although this is obviously an imaginary scene, I wanted to keep that red brick theme which limited my colour choice a little. A Mancunian would also hopefully recognise that tall grey/blue structure as being the Beetham Tower so I had to keep to the true (ish) colours for that as well! All in all, not colours that I'd normally use but it's growing on me now after reading your lovely comments. Thanks again
